...What an incredible day. It was amazing to see so many accomplished women from all areas of the industry, and at all different stages in their careers come together, connect, and talk all things aviation! I feel so inspired by every single person who attended.
The event started at 12:00 at 'The Wing' in Henley. We all had tea, coffee, and sandwiches while everyone arrived. At 13:00 we sat down, and were introduced to Bremont by Co Founder Giles English which was absolutely fascinating, and so interesting to hear about the brand's close ties with aviation.

We then watched a prerecorded video from the Minister for Aviation! who is an advocate for women in aviation, and who was disappointed that she could not be with us in person on the day. Mandy Hickson then gave an incredibly inspiring Keynote Speech! which had everyone who attended amazed, amused and energised.
Elevate(her) founder Katherine Moloney then said a few words about the Elevate(her) project.
“This event originally started because I felt I didn’t know many other women in aviation, and I wanted to connect and talk with other likeminded ladies. Having said that, I don’t want to detract from the amazing and supportive male instructors and mentors, we have all had within our aviation journeys.
However, with many women in aviation spread throughout the UK it can feel lonely at times whether you are learning to fly or working in the industry. I have discovered I am not the only one who felt this way!”
The Elevate (her) lunch is about creating connections. Meeting like minded people who you can share experiences with and support each other. Fridays event had ladies from all different areas of aviation, at all different stages of their careers, with a passion for aviation as a common interest.
The result? …community!
By coming together online, and at events like this I believe we will make a difference and will inspire and support future pilots, air traffic controllers, engineers, wing walkers, display pilots and women in aviation business.
Therefore, this event will now be the annual 'Elevate (her) lunch for Women in Aviation' and is a crucial part of the Elevate (her) project.
